Traffic for certain types of vehicles is prohibited on the Mestia–Ushguli section

Due to snow and icy conditions, traffic for trailers, semi-trailers, and M3 category passenger vehicles (designed for carrying passengers, with more than 8 seats excluding the driver and a maximum mass exceeding 5 tons) is prohibited on the km 138–km 185 (Mestia–Ushguli section) of the Zugdidi–Jvari–Mestia–Lasdili road of domestic significance.

On the km 150–km 185 (Ulakhi–Ushguli section), movement of light vehicles is permitted only with the use of anti-skid chains, while high-clearance vehicles (with two or more drive axles) are allowed to move freely.
